7:55pm:
Dhul-Hijjah begins at Maghrib on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 based on multiple authentic sighting reports out of Trinidad. Dozens of people have sighted the moon in several towns. As such, the 1st day of Dhul-Hijjah will be Wednesday, November 18, 2009.
Eid-ul-Adha will be on Friday, November 27, 2009. An early Eid Mubarak to all from the Chicago Hilal commitee.
5:05pm:
The Chicago Hilal Committee's meeting is in session to determine the start of Dhul-Hijjah, 1430. The start will either be tomorrow, Wednesday, November 18th or Thursday, November 19th.
Eid-ul-Adha will be on either Friday, November 27th or Saturday, November 28th Insha-Allah.
10/20/2009:
Monday night 10/19/2009 & Tuesday 10/20/2009 is Dhul-Qadah 1, 1430
The Chicago Hilal Team would like to welcome the month of Dhul-Qadah, 1430. The moon was not sighted on Sunday, October 18, 2009 anywhere in North America.
Consequently, Shawwal will complete its course of 30 days and Dhul-Qadah begins at Maghrib on Monday, October 19, 2009. The 1st of Dhul-Qadah is Tuesday, October 20, 2009.
The Chicago Hilal Committee will meet on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 (Dhul-Qadah 29, 1430) at the Islamic Center of Chicago to determine the start of Dhul-Hijjah and consequently the day of Eid-ul-Adha. Eid-ul-Adha will be on either Friday, November 27, 2009 or Saturday, November 28, 2009.

The moon was sighted in a number of places including Buffalo, NY, Long Island, NY and New Orleans, LA. After proper verification and authentication, it was determined that Eid-ul-Fitr will be tomorrow, Sunday, September 20, 2009. Ramadan will end with 29 days and Shawwal 1, 1430 will be Sunday, September 20th.
9:50pm:
Eid Mubarak. We have authenticated a number of reports. Based on those reports, Ramadan ends tonight, September 19, 2009. Ramadan ends with 29 days and Eid-ul-Fitr/Shawwal 1, 1430 will be on September 20, 2009.
9:40pm:
We are currently trying to authenticate the reports out of the Northeast and South. As of now, we are still unable to authenticate those reports.
We are also contacting our other representatives throughout North America.

The Chicago Hilal Committee will meet tonight, Saturday, September 19, 2009 (Ramadan 29, 1430) to determine the end of Ramadan/beginning of Shawwal (Eid-ul-Fitr). Eid-ul-Fitr will be on either Sunday, September 20th or Monday, September 21st.

Ramadan Mubarak! The Chicago Hilal Team would like to welcome the month of Ramadan, 1430. The moon was sighted in several places in North America on Friday, August 21, 2009 (Shaban 29, 1430) including Florida, Texas and Kentucky amongst other places. Consequently, Shaban finishes with 29 days and Ramadan begins on the night of Friday, August 21, 2009. The 1st of Ramadan is Saturday, August 22, 2009.
Itikaf will begin on the evening of Thursday, September 10, 2009.
The Chicago Hilal Committee will meet on Saturday, September 19, 2009 (Ramadan 29, 1430) to determine the end of Ramadan/beginning of Shawwal (Eid-ul-Fitr). Eid-ul-Fitr will be on either Sunday, September 20th or Monday, September 21st.

The Chicago Hilal Team would like to welcome the month of Shaban, 1430. The moon was not sighted on Wednesday, July 22, 2009 anywhere in North America.
Consequently, Rajab will complete its course of 30 days and Shaban begins at Maghrib on Thursday, July 23, 2009. The 1st of Shaban is Friday, July 24, 2009.
The Chicago Hilal Team will meet on Friday, August 21, 2009 (Shaban 29, 1430) to determine the start of Ramadan, 1430. More information will be provided as the date nears.

The Chicago Hilal Team would like to welcome the month of Rajab, 1430. The moon was sighted in Blacksburg, VA and Florida amongst other places. Consequently, Juma'ada Al-Thani ends with 29 days and Rajab begins at Maghrib on Tuesday, June 23, 2009. The 1st of Rajab is Wednesday, June 24, 2009.
